Purpose built as Roatans only PADI 5 Star IDC boutique resort and dive shop, Barefoot Cay and Barefoot Divers set a new standard in the Bay Islands of Honduras. The resort has a private island, the marina is the home to visiting mega yachts and the dive centers facilities are modernly convenient. The resort is on the southern coastline, between the port towns of Coxen Hole and French Harbor. The reef in front of the resort includes the famous dive site Marys Place, a channel of sheer walls that has been rated the #1 site on Roatan by returning divers. These sites are part of the Meso American barrier reef, blessed with one of the top rated biodiversities in the Caribbean and all part of our local Roatan Marine Park.
We are the smallest resort on southern Roatan, catering to couples, families, and small groups. As a PADI 5 Star IDC resort we are ready to begin leading you into a career in the recreational scuba industry. We are also a Divers Alert Network training facility and host the Roatan Marine Parks southern office. Within the warm sheltered waters of our private cay we have a palapa where you can enjoy unlimited time to practice and develop your confined water skills.
For the minimal time we hope to spend in the classroom it is still state of the art and comfortable. It is air-conditioned for those days that are scorchers, with a 32" flat screen Tv where we display the latest in PADI multimedia. Barefoot Divers has a complete, well stocked and modern equipment maintenance and repair station, a Mako BAM-07 upright compressor and Hydro Vane low pressure compressor and membrane system to make enriched air, the only one of its kind in the Bay Islands of Honduras.
Our 3 purpose built dive boats cater to small groups and getting to the nearby sites quickly. This also means we can offer more custom experiences to our guests and pro course trainees. Stocked with DAN Oxygen kits, DAN 1st Aid Guardian Packs, and covered to avoid excessive sun exposure, our boats are managed by friendly captains with years of local knowledge and training.
