idc_dive_training

You can start your dive career training today and join us at your convenience to complete your PADI Instructor at Barefoot Divers on the Caribbean island of Roatan in one of our monthly IDC programs. In Jan 2010 we launched PADIs most up to date eLearning IDC course which includes; online preparation, and then the Open Water Scuba and EFR Instructor.

What is PADIs eLearning IDC Option and what are the benefits?

Instead of spending days before the standard IDC begins in the classroom doing knowledge reviews, once you reserve your spot with us you can click on the elearning link below and begin interactive online IDC modules from the PADI website. Interactive video, graphics, and text modules will make you better prepared the IDC. Then join us for a more complete and enjoyable PADI Instructor course with more time in the water and less in the classroom. The eIDC format includes online presentations covering:barefootcay

  • Learning Instruction and the PADI System
  • General Standards and Procedures
  • Risk Management
  • Marketing Diving
  • Start Diving
  • Teaching PADI Specialty Diver Courses
  • Business of Diving
  • Keep Diving
  • How to teach the RDP

Unlike most PADI IDC facilities we schedule the eIDC over 8 days instead of the minimum of 5 and take a maximum of 6 students per program. We also plan for a day off before the IE so you can relax and absorb what you have been practicing, or get some personal remediation in any area you want.

Our 2010 IDC students been very pleased with the new PADI elearning format. They have all agreed on the benefits of directed practical training, more time teaching as a dive instructor in the water, and less time in the classroom establishing basic knowledge. With the new 2010 format we have noticed better initial preparation, less apprehension, increased time tuning scuba skills, teaching and sales techniques, and a very individualized course experience.

Our Success is your Success!

We are very pleased to say that in 2008 and 2009 every single one of our Instructor candidates passed their Exams on the first attempt, no other program in the area matched this result. All Dive shops, Course Directors and IDC Staff will tell you about how great their programs are, but this is the true measure, when our candidates are successful, that we know we can call our IDC program a success.

This outstanding result is a reflection of the overall quality of pro diver training available with the Barefoot Divers IDC Staff, our experience in teaching PADI professional programs, and most importantly reflects the efforts of our students - something we are very proud of.

We suggest enjoying the days leading up to the IDC with us at Barefoot Cay, exploring the reefs around Roatan with us, getting to know the dive shop staff, practicing skills in the confined water off our cay, and absorbing our Caribbean island diving charm.
