Divemasters training to become Instructors who; need more dives, want experience in a tropical resort environment, or would benefit from refreshing their diving skills and knowledge may want to consider our Instructor Internship. This is valuable experience that you will apply to training during the IDC and afterwards, in your scuba instructor career.
First complete your Assistant Instructor course with Barefoot Divers or at one of our IDC referral centers here on Roatan. Then you will assist on all aspects of working in that Dive Shop as an Assistant Instructor until the IDC you are scheduled to attend.
This includes; assisting on dives for both students and certified divers, participating in classroom instruction, helping in confined water training sessions and gaining experience in the caribbean dive shop environment.
There is no additional course fee for the Instructor internship. You do have the additional PADI Assistant Instructor application fee of $63 and your living expenses during the duration of the Internship. All of these centers have accommodation available for Barefoot Dive Pro instructor internship candidates at reduced rates.
This is also a very good way to get a head start on a job here on Roatan following the IDC, a work reference from a reputable dive shop and perhaps even earn some certifications as an Assistant Instructor.
